Race Report 2025

This was the 30th Anniversary of The 20 Barriers and it was a particularly poignant event as Dave Shinn, the race organiser from the early 2000’s to 2017 had died on 20th June this year. He was remembered at the start - and the finish when each runner was given a bottle of Memorial Ale. We had an excellent turn out with 141 competitors who all finished successfully and despite a somewhat dire forecast of Thuner and heavy rain, it all held off until we had finished clearing up and were safely ensconced in the pub. A big thank you to all the Marshals and other essential helpers, to Rowan Wood Sports Therapy for his spot prizes and to the Lancaster Running Centre for the loan of the Start/Finish arch and of course to all you wonderful competitors without whom it could not have happened. We look forward to seeing you all again next year, Tuesday July 7th July 2026 All profits donated to Kent Estuary Youth Project (KEY Project)

2024 - Race Report

It was a good weather day and the race went off without a hitch thanks mainly to the wonderful help from all the members who volunteered to marshal, time, log registrations and results etc….

All the marshals set out their own little bit of the course and then cleared all the tape and signs away after the race had gone through making for a highly efficient and successful day.

There were 103 entries for the race all of whom seemed to thoroughly enjoy it and many of whom were highly complementary about the event.

The £505 profits from the race will be donated to the Kent Estuary Youth Project to fund the Youth Workers and premises rental for the youth clubs.

Next year's race is on Tuesday 1st July (2025) and I’m hoping to get the same brilliant support from all you wonderful competitors to make it another enjoyable evening for all concerned.

Thank you all for turning up and doing it so well!
