This year's race is on Tuesday 2nd July with a 7pm start.
Held under FRA rules.Competitors must be 16 or over on day of race.
£5 entry on the night. Registration opens by 5.45 and closes at 6.45 so that the race can start at 7pm sharp.
Please use the main Carnforth High School car park which is on the east (motorway side) of the school buildings and not the restricted parking area on the town side next to the Swimming Pool.
The race follows a 5 mile scenic route on the field paths, trails and canal
towpath in the countryside to the south of Carnforth ‘Gateway to the
Lake District’.
It gets its name from the number of stiles
and other field boundaries crossed en route but none of the ‘20
barriers’ should present any unusual hazards or difficulties.Trail or
studded shoes advised.
Since 2022 the race has reverted to it's traditional return route through the old Lundsfield quarry area and follows the yellow marker posts to Kellet Road canal bridge before crossing over the pale green footbridge down to the towpath, although there are some changes to the start and finish due to new perimeter fencing at the School, so please study the maps and give the pre-race briefing your full attention.
Goody bags for first three men and first three women and other spot prizes at the finish line.
We are saving on plastic - some water and juice will be available at the finish but please bring your own reusable drinking cup.
