2023 Race night information

This year's race is on Tuesday 4th July with a 7pm start.

Held under FRA rules.Competitors must be 16 or over on day of race.

£5 entry on the night. Registration opens by 5.45 and closes at 6.45 so that the race can start at 7pm sharp.

Please use the main Carnforth High School car park which is on the east (motorway side) of the school buildings and not the restricted parking area on the town side next to the Swimming Pool.

The race follows a 5 mile scenic route on the field paths, trails and canal towpath in the countryside to the south of Carnforth ‘Gateway to the Lake District’.
It gets its name from the number of stiles and other field boundaries crossed en route but none of the ‘20 barriers’ should present any unusual hazards or difficulties.Trail or studded shoes advised.

As with last year it follows the old return route with new yellow marker posts through the old Lundsfield quarry area back to Kellet Road canal bridge before crossing over the pale green footbridge and down to the towpath, although there are some changes to the start and finish to avoid the new perimeter fencing at the School,so please study the maps and give the pre-race briefing your full attention.

Goodie bags for first three men and first three women and spot prizes at the finish line.
